I’m Joelleann, a compassionate Registered Social Worker/ psychotherapist who has spent many years providing community mental health care. I hold both a Bachelor’s degree in Bioethics and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto.
As a therapist, I continuously strive to provide culturally responsive therapy for adults, grounded in anti-oppressive, anti-racism, LGBTQI2S+ inclusive, and trauma informed frameworks.
I have experience working with clients facing challenges with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, burnout, self-esteem, life transitions, and various forms of oppression.
My practice philosophy highlights the importance of empowering communities and healing generational wounds.
A fun fact about me is that I have published multiple articles and chapters on a variety of topics, such as Africentric clinical practice, mental health, spirituality, and human rights.
I look forward to helping you work through your mental health needs.
