Humaira Khurshid

Registered Psychotherapist

Languages Offered: English, Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu

With over 24 years of experience in psychotherapy and behavioural health, I specialize in trauma therapy, couples and family counselling, anger management, ADHD support, and enhancing emotional well-being for women. I also work with parents and families to help them better understand and support the behaviours and emotional needs of children with autism.

My practice is rooted in a deep understanding of the complexities of psychological distress, trauma, and the unique challenges faced by individuals and families; particularly within immigrant and newcomer communities.

Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience in providing individual and group therapy, helping clients navigate psychological challenges with a wholistic, non-judgmental approach that integrates both Eastern and Western cultural perspectives.

I am passionate about guiding clients to set specific, achievable health goals and offering practical strategies for managing stress, anxiety, and other mental health challenges.

I utilize evidence-based techniques such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, mindfulness, cognitive restructuring, and emotional regulation, which have proven to be invaluable in fostering better mental health. I am also skilled in conducting risk assessments following traumatic experiences, evaluating contributing environmental and emotional factors, and planning tailored therapeutic interventions.

As a therapist my commitment is to empowering individuals, families and communities through wholistic therapeutic support.
